About KEMMA

Transforming Lives. Building Sustainable Communities.

KEMMA is a registered non-profit association headquartered in Douala, Cameroon, dedicated to promoting inclusive and sustainable development. Guided by the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, we work alongside vulnerable communities to expand access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, clean water, renewable energy and sustainable livelihoods.

By fostering community participation, strengthening local capacities, and building strategic partnerships, KEMMA empowers individuals and communities to achieve lasting resilience, dignity and prosperity. Our integrated approach combines education, healthcare, economic empowerment, food security, clean energy, and access to safe drinking water to address the interconnected challenges facing underserved populations.

By working alongside communities, government institutions, civil society, the private sector and development partners, we design and implement practical, sustainable solutions that create lasting impact.

KEMMA is committed to fostering inclusive development through innovation, collaboration, accountability and community participation. While our registered office is located in Douala, we are empowered to establish branches and liaison offices across Cameroon and beyond as our programmes expand.

Our story

Origins in community action

Before KEMMA was formally created, Mr and Mrs Emmanuel Wakili carried out a wide range of humanitarian activities in their communities. These long-standing efforts showed the impact that focused support on women, youth and vulnerable families can have — and led to the formal establishment of KEMMA to scale and structure this work.

Meet our leadership
KEMMA community work
  1. Supported community development projects, including pipe-borne water in villages.

  2. Empowered women, girls and vulnerable persons with capital to start petty trade and small businesses.

  3. Promoted education through scholarships and provision of didactic and school materials.

  4. Supported the humanitarian work of NGOs and associations through financial and material donations.

  5. Assisted vulnerable populations to enroll in and complete vocational training programs.

Our commitment

Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Our work contributes directly to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on ending poverty, improving health and education, achieving gender equality, ensuring access to clean water and affordable energy, promoting decent work, reducing inequalities, and strengthening partnerships for sustainable development.

Through innovation, accountability and collaboration, KEMMA is committed to transforming lives and building stronger, healthier and more resilient communities — one community at a time.

These integrated projects are designed to build resilient, self-sustaining communities where every person can live in dignity.
